Yorkshire six-piece Scars On 45 have announced that they have signed a deal with the Chop Shop label, a subsidiary of major US label Atlantic Records.

The band will release an album in March 2010.

Success for Scars On 45 began via the fan-funded website slicethepie.com through which the band raised £15,000 to record their album.

This was followed in 2009 when the band's track 'Beauty's Running Wild' was featured on popular series CSI: New York, and within just two days of the show hits to their website exceeded 25,000.

Following the exposure on CSI: New York, the band were contacted by the Chop Shop label and the band signed contracts in November.

Stuart from Scars On 45 said to Leeds Music Scene, "We got a song aired on CSI New York and things just took off. A women called Alex Patsava over in America is the music supervisor for shows such as Greys Anatomy, Gossip Girl and The OC and she has her own label [Chop Shop] with Atlantic and that's who we have signed to".

Scars On 45 play at the Cockpit in Leeds on Friday, 5th March - gig details - and tickets are available now for just £5. Supports comes from Bradford-based band Redwire.
