Nine bands from around the Leeds and wider West Yorkshire region will be appearing on a new charity compilation album that will be released later this month.

Titled 'The Yorkshire Sampler Vol. 1' the compilation is released on 25th March via the new Huddersfield-based The Number 42 Records.

The album will be released in aid of the charity Anthony Nolan, with all proceeds from the CD sales going to the charity.

The CD has nine artists from the Yorkshire area including Wot Gorilla? and Ellen and the Escapades, who both played on the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Other bands include Imp, Elmaroe, Ashe Vendetta, Audit Control, Ben Marron, No Garden One Dragon, and Feeds.

The launch party for the CD will take place at The Other Rooms in Huddersfield on 25th March and will feature some of the bands taking part in the project.

Anthony Nolan is a charity for bone marrow transplants and they currently run the UK's largest and most successful stem cell register for matching donors to patients.
