Leeds-based band Tom Gee has announced the release of the EP 'Roots', with a launch gig scheduled in for next weekend.

Songs from the 4-track EP, written by Tom and his band, will be performed live at the 360 Club at The Library on Friday, 24th June.

The EP was mixed at Peak Studios in Little Germany, Bradford, by Roni Szpakowski, and mastered by Tony Bonner at Clipstore on Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

Exclusive hard copies will be available at the 360 Club gig, with the digital release date (via iTunes, etc) also timed for June 24th.

The 360 Club performance will be recorded and filmed for BBC Introducing and featured on Alan Raw's show, which goes out on BBC Radio Leeds.

The Leeds gig also marks the launch of the up-and-coming student band's 2011 "Get Out Of Bed Tour", which takes in the UK and Ireland.

Tom, 21, who is in the final year of a popular music degree course at Leeds College of Music, said: "The 360 Club showcases some of the finest live music in Yorkshire and is a high profile local starting point for our new EP launch and the Get Out Of Bed tour."

The 360 Club's Richard Watson said: "I've known Tom for quite a few years and seen him go from strength to strength. He's a wonderful artist and performer - a great talent, one that could go all the way. I'm chuffed to be promoting his launch. It's going to be a superb show and he's backed by some truly impressive supports acts."

Touring with Tom Gee on the Get Out Of Bed circuit is Nigel Passey, who heads up another popular Leeds-based student band of the same name.
