Today on International Women's Day, Louise Distras has released her debut single and music video for the brand new track, entitled 'The Hand You Hold'.

Described as ' A fierce anthem for female empowerment with it's withering refrain 'Never let the hand you hold, hold you down'', the song explores consumerism, body image, gender roles and sexism within the male dominated music industry and aims to promote empowerment and equality for everyone regardless of race, gender and class.

'The Hand You Hold' is taken from Louise Distras' forthcoming debut album expected to be released in late 2012, engineered by Pat Collier (New Model Army, X Ray Spex, Maximo Park ) and produced by Steve Whale at Perry Vale Studios in London,
