Bradford Theatres BD1 LiVE have announced details about an opportunity for local bands to play at Bingley Music Live on Saturday 1st September and Sunday 2nd September.

After the success of 2010 and 2011, BD1 LiVE has once again teamed up with Bingley Music Live to offer two successful bands the opportunity to open and play the main stage.

If you're a musician, or in a band, you can download an application form and register before the 25th May.

From the applicants, organisers will select 18 bands to play across three heats in June.

One winner from each heat along with a further three runners up will then go on to play in the grand final on the majestic stage at St George's Hall in Bradford.

The two winning acts from the grand final at St George's Hall will open the main stage at Bingley Music Live, one on Saturday and the other on the Sunday.

Bingley Music Live has already confirmed The Charlatans, Delilah, Hard Fi, The Pigeon Detectives, DJ Fresh, Maverick Sabre and Stooshe with more still to be confirmed.

Adam Renton - General Manager of Bradford Theatres - said, "This is a great opportunity for local musicians to participate in such a prestigious festival. We're very proud to be running something like this in the city of Bradford in such an amazing venue that is steeped in musical history."

Heats are free to attend and take place in the St George's Hall Bistro Bar on Tuesday 26th June, Wednesday 27th June and Thursday 28th June.

The Grand Final will take place on Friday 20th July.

Entry to the competition is free. The closing date for applications is 12pm Friday 25 May 2012.
