The Wind-up Birds have announced the release of their new album 'Poor Music' on 26th May 2014 via Sturdy Records. The album will be preceded by the single 'The Gristle', which is out on the 19th May.

The band have also launched a video for the single:

Taking its cue from albums like Pavement's 'Wowee Zowee', 'Poor Music' is a sprawling mess of a record where carefully constructed epics sit alongside tossed-off fragments, where perfectly constructed punky pop songs rub shoulders with painful, searing bleakness.

The 17-track album will be available through iTunes and Bandcamp, with a limited physical CD release available through selected shops and online.

New single 'The Gristle' is available on a pay-what-you-like basis from thewind-upbirds.bandcamp.com with a couple of exclusive B-sides.

The band will be launching the album with a special gig at Wharf Chambers on May 29th.
