This is a review of "Back In Power" recorded by The Glitterati. The review was written by Gavin Miller in 2004.

Mainstream rock. For so long it's been a dirty word, associated with the kind of dross that Bon Jovi would call 'mind blowing'.

However, it's now 2004, and The Glitterati are here to change all that. A blistering mix of crunchy guitars, melodic choruses, squealy leads and the kind of faultless production that would make any band fall to their knees and beg for mercy, all wrapped up in 3 minutes 43 seconds. This is pretty damn good in other words.

It's catchy, gritty and just a little sleazy. Add all those elements to a FM friendly rock song, and it should, but probably won't, take on the world with a cigar in one hand and a bottle of Jack in the other.

For fans of the recent surprise success story that is Velvet Revolver, or the living drama series that is Jane's Addiction, or simply any old school rock fan who wants to get down, then The Glitterati may just be your new favourite band.
