Leeds Festival 2005 had its license approved yesterday evening during a meeting at Leeds Civic Hall. This will be the third year that the festival has taken place at its more recent home of Bramham Park with this year's festival taking place between 26-28th August.

The official line up will be announced from next month, but early rumours are that the headliners will be Foo Fighters, Pixies and Iron Maiden, which many other bands expected including Bloc Party and Leeds' Kaiser Chiefs.

Although a number of tickets were released for purchase last year, tickets should be available from March with a capacity in the region of 52,000.
