Jack Afro formed in September 2005 from the ashes of Leeds based band Lucky Royale. Original line up included Micky P Kerr (BASS) and Stevie D (VOX/KEYS). After finding their sound found quick success and the band became the first release from 1965 RECORDS (SONY BMG) with the 7'Single 'TAKE ME HOME'. The band then recruited Gav Bailey (EX - THIS ET AL) & Pete Hiley (EX - THE EXPERTS) and then became the second coming. Pretty much a new band discovered a completely new side to the band more agressive but still pop based.

In July 2007 the band released their debut album 'ONCE MORE WITH FEELING' on VINYL JUNKIE RECORDS(JAPAN). The album was a success been voted HMV's best Rock album of July 2007 and hit the Japanese national charts at NO.23. The band then completed a small tour of Japan in October and as the headline band sold out 'THE ASTRO HALL' venue in Tokyo.

2008 has just seen the band record a 6 track EP with James Kenosha of Duels and have also been picked to represent the VISIT BRITAIN ROCKS CAMPAIGN by The British Council.
