Ben was born in London in 1968 and wrote his first song at age 14 in Suffolk, where he grew up. He was the singer and songwriter in a few bands, including Daylight Dog, who still play together occasionally . Ben got a first class degree in Performing Arts from Middlesex University, London in 1994 and has been putting out cassettes and CDs of his material since about 1990.

Ben sings and plays keyboard, guitar. mandolin and harmonica. His songs are influenced by rock, pop, folk and jazz but are not easily placed in any genre. In recent years he has been mainly playing as a solo act in West Yorkshire, Suffolk, London, New Jersey and Toronto, where the CD 'An Orphan's Song: Ben Walker Sings Stuart Ross' was performed in its entirety on March 9th of this year.

On September 18th 2008 the new album 'Kill or Cure' was launched at The Packhorse in Leeds, UK featuring a specially assembled 5-piece band of musicians who played on the disc.

Ben has worked with members of Lindisfarne, 10cc, New Model Army, The Vipers, Vipers Dream, Jools Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra as well as talented freelancers Al Lindsay, Patrick Naylor, Milo Fell, Kevin James, Rus Pearson, Kate Peters and Nigel Stonier.
