The line up for the Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival 2007 was announced at a special launch party at Leeds' Cockpit this evening, and with (accurate) rumours in plentiful supply on the internet over the past few months, there was little by way of surprise.

As rumoured, the opening day's events will be completed by headliners Smashing Pumpkins, who are supported on the Main Stage by Nine Inch Nails, Lostprophets, Fall Out Boy, Funeral For A Friend and +44. Meanwhile, Klaxons are set to headline the Radio One / NME Stage on Friday, along with LCD Soundsystem and CSS.

Fans of Razorlight will be pleased to hear that the band will be the headline act on the Main Stage on the Saturday night, with Kings Of Leon, Interpol, Maximo Park, The Gossip, and Gogol Bordello appearing throughout the day.

Ash will return to Leeds Festival to headline the Radio One / NME Stage on Saturday night, with Brand New, The Subways, and Enter Shikari completing the day's line up.

As previously revealed through their band mailing list, Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the Main Stage on the Sunday, with Arcade Fire providing the main supporting role. Other bands announced this evening include Bloc Party, Panic! At The Disco, and Angels & Airwaves.

Over on the Radio One / NME Stage, The View will close off Sunday's proceedings, with We Are Scientists, Biffy Clyro and The Twang also set to make an appearance.
