The Stax-Volts were formed in 2005, with Bigface D'Arcy (vox/guitar), Azrael Hawke (hammond organ/guitar), & Pat Duggins (drums). After a one-off gig near Stamford, Duggins quit the band under a cloud after dropping a drumstick during a massive guitar solo.

In 2006 the Stax-Volts re-formed in Leeds and their current line-up includes Joel Scintinelli on bass, and Jack Detawney on drums..
