The Pigeon Detectives have today announced that they will be returning to play at Radio One's Big Weekend event. The band previously appeared last year in Preston just before their debut album ‘Wait For Me’ was released.

This year the event will take place at Mote Park in Maidstone on the weekend of May 10th and 11th, with The Pigeon Detectives appearing on the Main Stage on Sunday with The Kooks, The Enemy and Nelly amongst others.

There are 30,000 free tickets available and you can register for tickets - until the deadline date, Monday, 28th April – by visiting the BBC One Big Weekend website.

In other news, the band will be doing their debut performance on Later With Jools Holland on BBC Two this week. The show goes out live tonight (22nd April) at 10pm. An extended show goes out on Friday night which will feature an exclusive performance of one of the new album tracks.
