With Leeds Festival 2009 a matter of hours away Leeds Music Scene has decided to give those setting off a little later a quick reminder of the Leeds bands playing this year.
The festival opens up with the Dance To The Radio event on the BBC Introducing stage tonight (Thursday). You can see Holy State at 7pm and Wild Beasts at 9.10pm.
Leeds representation on the Main Stage this year is with Kaiser Chiefs. The five-piece will play at 8.05pm on Sunday.
On the NME / Radio One Stage, Dinosaur Pile-up will open the festival tomorrow morning (Friday) at 12 noon. And if anyone is following the fortunes of Victoria Hesketh (formerly of Leeds band Dead Disco) aka Little Boots, she will play the NME / Radio One Stage on the Sunday at 3.05pm.
The Plight will take to the Lock Up Stage at 12 noon on Sunday.
On the Festival Republic Stage it’s a local double header to kick start the festival on Friday.
Wakefield’s Skint & Demoralised will open the proceedings at 12 noon followed by Pulled Apart by Horses at 12.45pm.
Elsewhere on the Festival Republic Stage, Grammatics will play the stage at 3.45pm on Saturday and Futuresound 2009 winners Middleman will play on Sunday at 12 noon.
Over on the BBC Introducing Stage on Friday there’s Wonderswan at 12.15pm, Chickenhawk at 12.55pm, and “Leeds' answer to the worldwide indie-folk-pop phenomenon” Ellen and the Escapades at 3pm.
On the Saturday you can watch The Old Romantic Killer Band at 2.45pm, and on the Sunday you will see Kinch at 1.15pm, Milk White White Teeth at 2pm, and Bear Driver at 6.30pm.
Finally, Pulled Apart by Horses will also be playing the Alternative Stage at 10.15pm on the Sunday night.
