Johannesburg, released Monday 27th April is BANG BANG ROMEO'S debut release since signing to MadClubOfTwo Records in December 2014. Having premiered as "Shock of the New" on XFM it has been described as "Huge" and "like a hard edged Fleetwood Mac" (Jo Good XFM) and has received numerous national radio airings to rave reviews such as "A rousing soulful gem" (Fresh On The Net / BBC Radio 6). Eventually seeing the track added to XFM's evening playlist in May 2015.
Further BBC Radio 1 airplay Via Huw Stephens and selection as his 'Pick of the week' has seen the band labeled as "The best in new music" and "one of the most exciting new bands in the country."
The song is the first in a trilogy of tracks that will go on to comprise the soundtrack to a mini-film that the band have been out filming in the desert's of southern Spain, with each individual track and video containing part of the overall story.
BANG BANG ROMEO had initially exploded onto the radar in 2014, with debut e.p We Were Born produced by the legendary Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones, INXS) receiving widespread critical acclaim, seeing the band labelled as "epic" (John Kennedy, XFM) and "Like a Tarantino soundtrack" (Christian Carlisle, BBC Introducing).
With classy, well written rock songs, a huge sound, raucous live performances and spine tingling vocals the band have drawn frequent comparison to the greats such as Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and Fleetwood Mac.
A string of acclaimed live performance's labelled "completely mind-blowing" by Artrocker at esteemed venue's such as The Etihad Stadium, The Lexington, and The Tour De France Grand Depart culminated in the band being hand picked to open up the Galtres Festival main stage for the likes of The Human League and The Levellers in summer 2014.
The band's staggering live reputation has now seen them land slot's at this years Isle Of White festival and joining the likes of The Charlatans and Wu Tang Clan at this years Tramlines Festival.
Having already aired on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, XFM and across the BBC local radio network the band look set for an exciting summer festival season.
