Although the Futuresound 2006 competition is still to come to a close -with six winners expected to be announced shortly- the line up for the Unsigned Stage at this year’s Leeds Festival is already taking shape… and once again the quality of bands set to appear in front of around 70,000 music fans across the weekend is high!
In conjunction with festival organisers Mean Fiddler, stage sponsors Topman, BBC Raw Talent and Sandman music magazine today revealed their selection of bands, all of which were chosen from literally hundreds and hundreds of hopeful entrants from around the North of England.
The headliners for the Unsigned Stage, now in its second year, were announced as Stoney (Friday) and Polytechnic (Saturday).
Leeds’ Vib Gyor will headline the Topman Unsigned Stage on the Sunday evening. Other Leeds bands announced for the weekend include O Fracas, Napoleon IIIrd, The Somatics, four day Hombre, The Lodger, d-koy and The Scaramanga Six.
The remainder of the bands selected to play -from all over the North- are Snowfight In The City Centre, The Interiors, The Guild, The Landaus, The Bonnitts, Censored, Mr Beasley, Viva High Rollers, Champion Kickboxer, Ernest, Little Ze, Letters and Colours, Dirtyblonde, Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire and The Dirty Dreamers.
Further bands are expected as the Futuresound 2006 competition comes to a close in the next week or two, so anticipate more Leeds bands to be announced shortly.
